Deniz Durukan

She was born in Istanbul in 1966. She writes  in magazines such as Varlık, Hişt, E, Başka, Hürriyet Gösteri, Yasakmeyve, Kitaplık. Her poems and interviews with other writers appeared on Cumhuriyet and Radikal newspaper supplements. Her critical writings and essays about rock music have been published on magazines such as Öküz, Hayvan, Picus, Yüksekses and Karakalem. She has been writing for the magazine Ot too. Deniz Durukan published the first series of rock music books called Türk Rock 2000 with Güven Erkin Erkal, and after that she also pubblished Türk Rock 2001 and İyiler Siyah Giyer. In 2005, she has published her first poetry book, Şakağına Daya Beni, and in 2009 the second one, Rugan. In 2012, she edited and published Fahriye Abla’dan Çanakkaleli Melahat’a Modern Türk Şiiri’nde Kadın İmgesi where 21 Turkish poetesses write about the image of the woman in Turkey.
