Kadir Aydemir was born in 1977 in Istanbul. He is originally from Ardahan. He graduated from Fener Bahçe Highschool in 1995 and studied Business Administration at the university for a while, then took a PR training. His first poems were published in “Şiir – Oku” magazine as well as in many other poetry magazines and newspapers. Between 1997 and 2003, he has published 11 issues of a poetry magazine called “Başka”. Since 2000, he edit the poetry website www.yitikulke.com that he also founded that year. At the end of 2005, his book Gölü Emen Mektup was translated in Azerbaijani; in 2013, Aşksız Gölgeler was translated in German and published by Binooki Verlag. His writings have been already translated in English, French, German, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Bulgarian, Japanese and Russian. Besides poetry, he also writes short stories and prose. He is a fan of the greek poet Yannis Ritsos and the chilean Pablo Neruda. He has also published 3 issues of a poetry magazine devoted to haiku titled “Haikum”. Between his books there are: Cunda Öyküleri, Ekşi Öyküler, Bozcaada Öyküleri, Olimpos Öyküleri, 80’lerde Çocuk Olmak, 90’lar Kitabı, Tuhaf Alışkanlıklar Kitabı, Mutsuz Aşk Vardır and Yitik Öykü. Kadir Aydemir is a member of the “International PEN Writers Association” and “Authors Association” as well as the founder of the publishing house called “Yitik Ülke Yayınları” (www.yitikulkeyayinlari.com), where he actually works as director and editor.
