Tony A. Mochama

Tony Adam Mochama “Smitta” (Nairobi, 1975) is a successful journalist, and popular performance poet who lives and works in Nairobi, Kenya. MA in Law at UoN, he has been defined “a literary gangster” and his first poetry collection, published in 2007, was titled precisely What If I am a Literary Gangster? (Nairobi: Brown Bear Insignia, 2007). The sequel, also published by Brown Bear Insignia, was titled The Literary Gangsta – II. A third work of poetry  Evanescence  is on the way. His short stories will be soon published under the title The Ruins down in Africa. Mochama has also lectured on creative writing and poetry, most recently as a guest speaker in June at Concordia University, in Montreal.
