Read by James Wilkes on 11 December 2013

i got the virgin squints
in the rue garden
in beaconsfield
eating with strangers
and dear friends
the newly pregnant
clamber over each other
away over the grass
we blotch with pleasure
keeping our capillaries
trim & laughing
painters of bluish-green
& greenish-yellow
light, for friendship
& grace of evening seen
clear in the herb patch
